Breaks

I have a friend who has a blazer and his breaks always squeak. He sayed he changed his break pads and sayed every blazer he was in had squeaky breaks and its just part of the car. Is this true? or is there just something wrong with his breaks?

Re: Breaks

Siezed calipers or trashed bearings.

Re: Breaks

Try to find out if the squeaks are coming from the front or the rear. Do they squeak constantly or just when the brake pedal is depress? How long has it been since the brakes were serviced? Does your friend do his own brake jobs or does a garage do them? He says he changed his brake pads, did he turn the rotors, grease the bearings? Also, The year of the Truck might be helpful. I have owned 4 different Blazers and Squeaky brakes are not a normal condition if the brakes are serviced properly.

sorry about the lack of information its an 85 blazer, i believe its comming from the front. He takes it in for maitnence often, i told him that its not normal and it should be fixed, but he assured me the squeaky sound was part of the car. I just didnt think it was natural to make that sound there has to be something wrong with the breaks.
