Brake lights stay on

My brake lights remain continually on. Reset the parking brake, pulled fuses, disconnected power but once everything is placed back to its original state, the brake lights come on even when the key is removed. Brakes work with the brake lights on and there is no noticeable drag when the car is in drive nor are there any rubbing noise to indicate if the brakes are jammed.

Re: Brake lights stay on

How about to look in brake fluid reservoir?

Indicating light is same for parking brake and low brake fluid level.

Re: Brake lights stay on

Sounds like a problem I've fixed - easy & cheap. The brake lights are controlled by a microswitch up under the brake pedal. There's a small plastic part that pops into the pedal, and that presses on the switch. Eventually the plastic "button" wears out, then your brake lights stay on all the time (and, incidentally, your cruise won't engage).
