Weird Noises! Help

I have a 94 GA 5speed with a quad 4 I have recently noticed a really weird noise sounds kinda like a chain that is being shaken out the window as someone is driving down the road this is when I press the clutch in and at times too just when I am driving... It is worse tonite... I must admit I was racing a little bit... LOL this kid in a Mustang... anyways....
But I was not ridding the clutch during this particular incident but I did notice it was alot more noisy afterwards... I won by the way LOL I am
thinking the worst of course.. Possibly throw out bearing? Can these just go out?? Oh.. I also had the A/c replace 1 week ago too... Also Another question my exhaust is really noisy and it seems to hang a bit lower than most cars... Could all of this be related? Any help would be great...
My car still shifts and runs great just this weird noise.. and it comes and goes???
Thanks Alot guys!
Lisa

where does it sound like the noise is coming from? The engine? Tranny? Wheels?

Could possibly be a CV joint. Do you notice it more when you are turning or straight? Throwout bearing will have similar noise as well. Both are noticed when not on the gas. Mainly because the engine noise masks the sound produced by the failing part.

Re: Weird Noises! Help

Last night was the 1st time I heard it as I usually run the A/C... I am going to drive it later on today again without A/C and see if I can figure out where it is coming from... I also have a friend who is a mechanic and I might just bring it by his shop.... Thanks everyone I will post later on tonight and let you know!

My guess is that one of your clamps that hold the exhaust on snapped causing a hole somewhere in the exhaust system which is making the exhaust hang lower, then while you are driving you are probably hearing the exhaust rattling around down there. My exhaust on my 88 rattles it sounds like a bolt is inside the exhaust then again i wouldn;t be surprised since i had it done by an automotive store.. If your exahust is shot go with a better system then stock, like an SLP or Borla or which ever you like and that will fit

you were exactly right! My friend that is the mechanic said the same thign! Oh my goodness the noise and all he had to do was shake it a little bit.. He also told me that someone had "converted" my converter and it had a rock in it! But it wouldn't hurt anything and that was the chain pinging like noise I heard as well.. Where can I get more info on these 2 exhaust types you talked about? Of course anything is better than this rattling and pinging!
Thanks
Lisa
