need help asap.. please

so im out visiting friends and fam. in the town i used to live in when i come off the highway and i cant shift into any gear... so i turn it off on the shift link where it goes into the transmission theres a boot that feels ripped i cant tell for sure cuz its almost 11:00pm and i have no light, when its off the shifter will go into every gear but 2nd gear... so i start and its in neutral and i give it gas and it moves like its in 2nd gear .. the clutch works... but it wont come out of 2nd regaurdless of where i have the shifter so i had to drive like 15 miles in 2nd so now im in BFE where the only automotive store is napa and it takes them usually two days to get anything for my car... btw its a 90 hatch std... any advise is greatly appriciated thanx...

the only thing that looks damaged is the boot i wouldnt think that would make it not shift.. could something else be wrong? like in the tranny?

it could be the gear selector arm in the tranny, thats whats wrong with the 88 si tranny i picked up, one side of the arm broke off and its now stuck in 2nd gear.

pin might be busted off that connects to the shift linkage and the tranny, i know when i blew my diff apart it go stuck in reverse but still wouldnt move at all, god that was a horrid night
