i hate k&n!!

when i first bought my k&n filter it made my truck run funny, and i didnt kno what it was. well i took my carburatur(sp?) apart to fix the float, and found a TON of dirt insinde the bowl of it, and then figured out that dirt was getting between the neadle and seat, and flooding the carb. so i fixed it again and put a shitty fram filter and it run perfect since then.

and how, pray tell, might the dirt getting past the needle and seat have anything to do with the K&N filter.

k&n filters as u probably kno let a ton more air in then a regualr filter, but in order to let alot more air in the spaces must be bigger, there fore letting tiny tniy dirt particles in. and if u are familair with a carb, or even driven one, u know that it only takes very very tiny particles to upset a carb. plus it statring flooding itself the day i got the k&n and stopped right after i took it out.

You install a higher flowing filter. As you said, the only way a filter can flow more is to let MORE air and MORE pollutants in the air through. Then you're shocked when you open it up and there's more dirt in there. Mental giant.

Did you oil the filter? Did it seal up properly or not fit like it should?

Don't blame the filter first up, there's any number of reasons...

good point, yes it fit perfectly, but i did forget to oil it like i did my previous ones in the past, so it could have been that tyhe filter was properly prepared to be used, thanks for mentioning that....theres only one small problem.... i kinda got really mad at it so i threw it really before and tore it up so basically i just threw away $45
