s-10 stutters

i have a 1999 s-10 pickup. about once or twice every tank of gas, my truck will strugle to shift and then when i come to a complete stop. it will sputter a few times and jolt forward. if i take it out of drive and put it in park the problem goes away. does anyone know what it could be? transmission?

Re: s-10 stutters

The first think I would do is check the fuel filter.

GET A RANGER HAHAHAAHHAAHAA
Fuel filter may be the problem or the fuel injectors may need replaced

Check your fuel filter, if it's fine, check the injectors as well as your fuel injector pressure regulator. Also, if your check engine light is on, get your codes read, that may give you the solution right away.
One other thing you may wish to check is you O2 sensors, especially the one after you catalytic converter.
