97 Cavalier toast variable fan speed cards...

Once again, the GF's A/C blower only blows at SUPER SPEED. None of the other fan speeds cause the fan to come on.

I replaced the card 1 year ago. While installing it, I broke the solder off of the back of the card (It acts like an external fuse on the card...) I resoldered a piece of wire across it, and it worked fine for a year.

The card went again. (Another $25) I bought a new card. The "Old" card is BLACK!

I installed the new card, and the solder burnt out in 30 seconds. After I yelled "F__K!!!!!!!" really loud, I touched the card and BURNT my fingertips!

-What causes this card to blow?
-Anyone else have this problem?
-How do you fix it? The GF wants her A/C!!!!!

sounds like you have a motor drawing too many amps, overloading the resistor, and causing your meltdown. try replacing your blower motor
