fuel filter

i have a 99 silverado, 4.3 liter. i'm having trouble replacing the fuel filter. i can undo the nuts on the filter but i can't seem to get the fuel lines free from the inside of the filter. i tried loosening the filter clamp but that didn't help me. does anyone know how to get the fuel lines out of the filter?

Re: fuel filter

Did you try loosening the fuel lines further away from the filter and then pulling the filter and lines away from the frame? I had to do this on mine to get the filter loose from the lines. thought the lines might bend or break at one point.

I agree. Just follow the fuel line along the rail that it's clamped to and loosen them along the way. This should give you enough play in the lines to pull them from from the filter.
