Does an 89 F 250 have some sort of idle recovery when you left off of the gas.
I have an 89 Ford pick up with a 351 and it dies when i let off of the gas. It seems like it just won't hold idle. I'm not familiar with fords at all so if someone could help me out, i'd greatly appeciate it. Thanks a bunch.

Could very well be a bad TPS or IAC. More than likely its the IAC (Idle Air Control). Its located on the side of your throttle body, have a plug in one end and 2 bolt I think holding it on. Shaped like a cylinder. Good luck with it.

Re: Does an 89 F 250 have some sort of idle recovery when you left off of the gas.
If you use a cold chisel, you can spin the screws out. Don't cut the heads off as you will need to reuse the screws. Also, while you are there, clean the throttle body out. Only use Mineral Spirits or turpintine. Do not use any hot paint thinners or carb cleaners. The interior has a special coating and you do not want to disturb it.
