Chevy Hi-Po Article LS1 Cam Swap?

Who else has read the CHP article, "LS1 Triple Play", where they tested three different CompCams with four different intakes? Even their "mild" cam put out 450hp/439tq with the LS1 intake. I am assuming this is fwhp and fwtq. Did they do anything else to the engine prior to this test?
Is this for real? 100+ hp for roughly $350-400. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Re: Chevy Hi-Po Article LS1 Cam Swap?

id have to go back and re-read the article to be sure, i know i have it in my room somewhere. but the factory cam is designed in comprimise with power, fuel econimy and emissions, as well as mass production. so yes, swapping in an aftermarket cam can cause very large increases in power. but i would assume they were also testing with open headers, and no air filter, no power accessories and such, so i doubt youd see the 100+ hp in the rear world application.
