LS 5spd Manual

Anyone know how to remove the gearshift knob on a manula shift LS?
I need to fix a broken shifter boot.
Thanks in advance

Re: LS 5spd Manual

I'll ask an owner over at LLSOC. Hang on.

Re: LS 5spd Manual

I've got this so far:
The Boot & Knob are (2) peices held together with a metal ring that must be pulled off. You must flip the Boot backwards to expose the metal ring there is also a rubber bushing.

I saw the metal ring. But I'm not sure that it "keeps" the shift knob. I will remove it and let you know.

Thanks for the legwork.

Re: LS 5spd Manual

Got this last night from a guy who's done it....
"There are a couple of O-rings you slide down onto the metal shifter rod and then the knob just lifts off with a good hard tug straight up."
