Installing clutch

im about to pick up a clutch kit or maybe just a disk for my fwd 94 impreza and im wondering how long it should take me to put in and if i am going to need a torque wrench. im pretty sure i can do it without the hays book or whatever book that tells you how to do stuff but if i need a torque wrench then i will need the book for the torque values.

Re: Installing clutch

If you are asking the question 'how long....' then I suggest you get a manual. Subaru's layout is a bit different than most fwd cars, so unless you have experience with changing clutches, it may take days for you to figure it out.
Also, have you changed a clutch before? Do you know how to use a clutch alignment tool? Do you know how to make one from a broomstick if the kit does not have one?
If no, then get a manual first.

Re: Installing clutch

yeah im asking how long

ive put a flywheel, clutch and transaxle on an 87 daytona before but i didnt do it all i just helped, i didnt use the alignment tool i think we used a steel rod or something.

i dont have any way to get my car off the ground except for jack and stands but thats only like a foot. i guess i will need to take off teh drive shafts and tranny do you think i can get under there and do that without a lift?

i really only have a weekend to do this cause i need that car to get to work and stuff.

i guess ill have to get the manual for the torque values anyhow.
