Re: 93 dakota wont start

Pumping won't do anything. It's fuel injected.

Is the check engine light on?

Did you check for spark?

Re: 93 dakota wont start

Are you sure? Did you pull one of the plugs to see for sure if there is actually no spark? If not, the coil might be bad, or even a fuse could be blown or something.

This is your winter truck, right? I'm guessing you had it in storage or something eh? Mice could have eaten through a bunch of important wires...

Re: 93 dakota wont start

yea me and my dad tested it and there is no spark. it was parked outside. it was started about every week or so until it stopped starting about 2 weeks ago. ill check the fuse, and we tested the coil also, it is good. ill check the fuses. could it be the computer, cause that went at about 60000 and it did the same thing?

Re: 93 dakota wont start

Might be. The distributor pickup might be bad. Can you tell if power is making it as far as the distributor?

Re: 93 dakota wont start

If you don't have any fire at the coil it will probably be the comp board. I just had to replace mine in my 93 5.2,but I have got almost 130,000 on it. Good luck!
