Help needed for '99 console R & R

I need to replace the shift cable on a '99 and know the console will need to come out. Local auto stores have no manual, so I need a little guidance for getting the console out of the way, and also any 'gotchas' as far as replacing the cable itelf.

TIA

Re: Help needed for '99 console R & R

To remove the console is pretty easy. Open the console (padded armrest) and remove two screws. Now there are two more screws on each side of the of trans hump. You should see them when you get into your ride. They will be right beside you right leg and beside your passenger's left leg. I think these are all the screws. Then it should lift right out. I'll check my manual later for confirmation though. HTH
