Hello,
I'm wondering if it's ok for me to use a 1:20 CF decal for a 1:24 model kit? Is it too big? What's your opinion, please enlighten. Cheers! Lex

Re: Question about CF decal.
It all depends on the decal and look you are after. Many different decal manufacturer's print different size weaves and call them all kinds of scales. Some decals labled 1/12th are actually finer than another manufacturer's labled 1/24th!
It is a judgement call purely up to you. For instance I usually use coarser weave on interior parts that would be invisible if a "more correct" finer pattern was used. So to answer your question: there is no simple answer, do what looks good. What 1/20th decals were you planning to use? |

Composite materials come in more than one size! On some cars you will find several sizes of the same pattern as well as several different patterns and several different materials.
1/20 scale is fine if the Composite material you are trying to replicate is the "larger weave" type. David http://www.scaleracecars.com |
