thinking of starting a new project..

ok so i want a faster car then the probe so im deciding on a project to start.. all opinions welcome and ideas adn suggestions

project 1: rb/240sx
take a rb25det and put it into a s-14 shaped 240sx.. i know $$ but its a project.. so it will take time.. i need the front clip and cross memeber and custom mounts, and the wiring is gona be hell.. but in the end its the closest think to a rwd skyline i can get..

project 2:supra300
thake a sc300 and put a 2jzgte into it or possible turbo the stock 2jzge motor.. i really want to do this one b/c i would love to have a car that makes the same power as a supra, and i like the shape of the sc300 and i still hold the sleeper status w/ the sc300 not alot would suspect that a car like that is capable of 400+hp.. if i do the sc300 im considering 2 motors the 2jzgte or the 1jzgte.. more leaning to the 1jzgte b/c i have been researching and the 1jz swap seems easier.

well what is your opinions and views..

Well both are cool ideas. If I had to pick one of those I would go with the RB/240sx because it would be the faster one... I think it would at least. And every time you open your hood you wont be able to help but smile when you see the heart of the skyline in there

it would be about the same speed if you got both cars. and both will cost lots of $$ more then you think. however i would pick the SC300. its more luxuries, and its easier to maintain a 2JZ then a import RB25. who da hell carries RB25 parts? ( i mean like stores you can walk into ). for a better investment the lexus is better.

Well, if you saw the Documentry "2 Fast 2 Furious" then you'd know that Skylines can be bought in used car dealerships in the desert.

So I'd assume, you can get parts for them at the Junkyard.

It's obvious that Skylines are crap if you can get them at a used car lot in the middle of nowhere.

Pff.. Godzilla? Right.

IS300 gets my Vote... nice to have a comfy car.

Re: thinking of starting a new project..

One thing to watch out for when considering the sc300 is that alot of them (shit, close to all of them) came with automatics.

How about putting a bigger lexus v8 into the sc...
with twin turbos?

I'm banned now arn't I?

I do agree though sleeper and sexy ness of the SC300 beats over RB 240

I prefer to buy mine off the shopping channel. For only 3 easy payments of 14.95 plus shipping and handling* you can have your brand spankin' new R34

*shipping and handling average cost $90K

Re: thinking of starting a new project..

I vote sil-line, just cause you'll have better handling. Plus, the 2jz might be an awesome motor, but an RB is just so damn sexy and exotic... personally, if I had that kinda money (it'll be about 8 grand for the RB conversion from what I've read,) I'd go with something else. Maybe a modded 300zxtt or vr4, or a 12 second dsm.

Your posts make my day.

I would vote for the SC with the swap. Even if it was an automatic, parts are more readily available, and potential is through the roof.

Yea but the RB has just as much potential and who cares if you have to order parts for it? I mean almost everyone does that already? Plus like people said the SC is heavyer and wont handle as well. I dont know what kind of racing you plan to do but if its anything but drag the RB240 will be better.

PS: The DSM is the best bang for the buck, but everyone one has a DSM. I mean I dont know what its like where you live but theirs almost as many DSMs as there are hondas in CT... its the new ricer
