Front Mounted Intercoolers?
If i install a front mounted intercooler for a turbocharger, won't the intercooler get all dinged up from reflected stones, etc?

yeah, eventually it will, you can put some screen in front of it if your really worried about it...not much will happen to it at all though, just a few bent fins.

just a stupid question... can you put an intercooler on a non-turbo car...i've been asked by a few friends, i'lve told them no, but i'm wondering maybe there is some way...i dunno, it's probably a stupid question.

You can - but it won't help at all....
Intercoolers are to bring the temperature of the air that has been compressed by the turbocharger (and thus heated) to the temperature of the air outside of the car. Your intake sucks in the air outside of the car...which is the same temp. as it would be if sent through an intercooler. And the i/c would be added weight among other things...

yea, they are basically pointless for a non turbo charged car....i guess you could get it for looks tho.

I wasnt talking about putting a front mounted intercooler on my car without a turbo chatger....im talking about when i install the turbocharger into my civic...i was wondering if the intercooler would get all dinged up..thats all
