Which metal polish/chrome cleaner do you use?

I was at my local auto store yesterday and was looking at chrome/metal cleaner and there was a few to choose from and I was wondering what is the good stuff and what should I stay away from?

Re: Which metal polish/chrome cleaner do you use?

Sea Farer , Productions Metal Polish sulphuric acid/hydrochloric acid/hydrophoric acid , ducan metal polish and fine steel wool.
Sea Farer amonia base metal polish , Production metal polish and ducan metal polish = more elbow grease more results , the acids are used to de oxidize and remove rust in pitts and must be nuetralized if the metal or chrome gets acid burned then nuetralize the acids with ph balanced car soap , vinegar or ammonia then rinse it and use metal polish to reverse the acid burns. Metal polishing is alot of fun.

I wouldn't touch chrome with any kind of steel wool in my opinion. Despite how fine, you are still in risk of scratching it.
Other than that, I'd agree with the above. But before going through all that, try using some windex, a rag, and some elbow grease, that works wonders on chrome if it hasn't gotten past a certain point.

Re: Which metal polish/chrome cleaner do you use?

I like Nevr-dull, there are alot of versions of it out there, I think Walmart carries it and Im sure you could get a good polisher from any motorcycle shop. Honda makes some good stuff (I use it on my bike). Also, does anyone know if there is a way to get rid of scratches on chrome...I have a couple scratches on my tailpipe that I would love to get rid of. Thanks!

I'm thinking of polishing my intake plenum and valve cover (who knows maybe even the throttle body) of my 3000GT but they are both realy rough with little bumps all over them (I think it's called flash or something). What would I use to get into the channels of the plenum, a dremmel and what products would i have to get? Thanks in advance, polishing looks like fun!

Here is a pic of a 3000GT intake plenum just so you can see, mines a bit more rough.

I use NEVR-DULL as well! Great stuff!

Works on just about everything I've used it on...even glass to remove sap and bugs! Go Figure!

30 minutes by hand with most all purpose metal polishes should gleam that plenum easily.
