Cleaning an Active Matrix Screen

I've got a laptop and quite frankly, I need to clean the screen, but I'm not sure with what I should do it. Obviously, the key here is not to screw up my laptop. Any advice would be appreciated.

i had the same problem a few days ago, but all i did was use a Windex on a very soft cloth and simply wiped it all off. i was reluctant at first too, but its ok though.

I dont know about using Windex. Ive heard that stuff is not good for the screen and could damage it.

I just use a very very soft damp cloth, and I make sure to do it every few days, to avoid the stuff getting baked onto the screen. Unfortionatly it doesnt work that well.

Ive seen that screen cleaner stuff in the spray bottle for sale at Futureshop and a few other electronics stores, but the ones that I saw it said right on the back not to use on LCD's

Im going to be driving by the IBM dealer tomorrow, ill stop in and ask them what to use for it.
