'88 Chevy Caprice Problems......
I got an '88 chevy caprice that ive been driving for about a year now and it is a real piece of shit, the car has major damage on front, back, and both sides due to a drunk driving accident(not me) well anyways the cars gas gauge has not worked for some time now, i think maybe it is fucked up from the system that i had put into the car(i have 2 12s) and when the bassgoes from the subs the gas gauge moves back and forth. Anyone know how to fix this problem and or how much it might cost to get fixed.
P.S. Anyone got spare parts for a '88 Chevy Caprice(big body/gray)? |

Re: '88 Chevy Caprice Problems......
Probably will require replacing the sending unit in the trunk. Also might be a case of you taxing the electrical system with your stereo. The alternator and battery may not be up to the task. Does the gauge work with out the stereo blasting??
I have a pile of interior pieces....

Re: '88 Chevy Caprice Problems......
If that's with the key in the ON position, then I would start by checking the connects at the rear of the car. There are a few wires that should be found in a weather pack connector near the top of the tank. They will be toward the front of the tank.
