Re: ok now im confused

what does it do when ur trying to start it? does it crank? when u floor it and it TRIES to crank then u smell gas..It's flooded.

just let it sit for a while and it'll start right up

but even if i let it sit for lets say a day i try to start it and it cranks but its like theres no spark or some shit so i gotta check the plugs and change the fuel filter and i think the carb might be on the way out the door

When you get in to start it after its been driven put the pedal to the floor and leave it there when you try to start it. If I were you I would check your choke too. Maybe the air filter totally clogged or something? GL.

Holley = more flooding.

Just jokin! I would try some Gumout concentrated carb cleaner. You never know it might unstick something like your float needle thingy if that is the problem.

My camaro did the same thing (and still does). If I drive for a while, and stop at a friends or something for a while it won't start without starting fluid. I'm not sure if its vapor lock, but I think its just the fuel pump going bad. I have dual throttle bodies ontop of the intake, so any carb related ideas are out the window for me. Im in the same boat as you, but I have replaced the plugs, cap-roter, and fuel filter, to no avail. I have used a whole can of carb cleaner on the thing too, nothing. I am just to lazy to pull the tank to do the pump.
