Water in AC unit? & other questions-please help
Hey,
As Big-L suggested i checked for a clog in the drainage tube from the HVAC box and there were no obstructions and no water was there. I think that the water may be in the air conditioning unit, like a clog in one of the drains there. Does anybody know where i can check and how? It seems like there is alot of water in front me. Also, is there any trick to taking off the windshield wipers so i can take a look in the area right before the windshield/dash by the hood. The wipers just dont want to come out. If anybody could tell me specifics on how to get them out i would be greatful. Finally i am going to use a jack to look under the car and was wondering where the specific locations are where i should place it so that it won't bend or damage anything. Thanks |

To raise the front of the car I use location 1 and place the jack stands at the outsides of location 1 or 3.....~Larry~

Um well when i stop i can hear it, but the sound is loudest when i accellerate quick from a stop and take a sharp turn. Then i can easily hear the sloshing. It seems to be all over in front of me. I checked the one HVAC drain and it wasnt clogged from what i could see (poked it with long wire). All i can really describe it as is a sloshing sound but not as if you were to shake a gallon of milk, rather water going through tubes back and forth and sloshing. If you have any ideas I'm all ears. I think it might have something to do with the AC, worth a try to check? If so how and where?

Re: Water in AC unit? & other questions-please help
there could be water trapped in the front cowl area under the wipers. Each wiper arm is attached to the wiper trans with a nut under a plastic cap. Once you get the wiper arms out of the way, the cowl is held in place by 3 push/pull retainers. to remove the retainers, grip the center with a pair of pliers and pull up, this should raise the center up allowing the whole retainer to come out. Once teh retainers are out, remove the cowl and look under it for leaves or other debris plugging the cowl drain.

I tried removing the wipers, it seemed like they wouldnt come out, is that the only thing that you do to free them?

As far as I know, that's all you have to do. It is possible that they have corroded together, try some penetrant spray and see if that frees them up.
