Unhappy Help b16b axles question!

I just did a complete jdm b16b motor swap in my 99 si except axles didnt come with the swap. I hooked up my stock axles and the car sounds and run like crap when i turn. I feel the lsd but i dont think the stock si axles work properly. Do I need new axles if so where can i get them?

Re: Help b16b axles question!

I'm having almost the same problem. My b16b cv boots are torn open and none of the shops around here know what kind of axles will fit on it for replacements. I did a search all over the net and nobody knows.. and no, b16a axles will not fit, they are too long.

Re: Help b16b axles question!

That sucks man.. i looked just about everywhere and the only thing close that says what axles were used in a b16b swap was in superstreet http://www.superstreetonline.com/fea...47/index1.html
but for the swap they used itr axles.. does that mean itr 5 lug conversion too? Please someone help!

Re: Help b16b axles question!

Yeah but did he use jdm or usdm itr axles..?
That car does have a 5-lug conversion so I'm guessing his itr axles have 23 splines unlike the civic's 21-spline shafts. I'm not to sure about that info though.. Anyways, my car is at the shop and they supposedly found a match to replace mine. When they call me tonight I'll ask what axles they used as replacements and will let you know.

Re: Help b16b axles question!

They replaced them with oem 99-00 ABS Civic Si half shafts. Non-ABS shafts are too long, the ABS ones are just right. You can tell the difference between the two by the gear-looking ring around the end closest to the wheel. If your car doesn't have ABS brakes (which mine don't), it doesn't matter, they will still fit just fine.

Hope this helps.

Re: Help b16b axles question!

Your refering to the non abs half shaft that doesnt come with the ctr motor correct? Thats right... CTR and ITR dont come with abs i believe. So the oem 99 si halfshaft should do it? And I can use my stock si axles?

Re: Help b16b axles question!

I'm referring to an abs-equipped Si half shaft, and yes, the ctr's came with ABS brakes. If your Si has ABS half shafts then yes, you can use them.

Re: Help b16b axles question!

I got them at NTB (National Tire and Battery) here in Columbus Ohio. Their number is 614-761-0052. Ask for Kevin Gagnon, he's my buddy who put them in. Just tell him Ricochet sent ya

i dont think those si axles will works, isnt those axles are from sohc motor? then it wont work. try the 90-93 alxes, b16a2-a3 axles gsr axles or the itr axles. those should work fine any beseries axles to a bseries motor should work

Re: Help b16b axles question!

The 99-00 Si has a dohc B16A2, and yes, they did work just like I said. No, not all B-series axles will work with the B16B, just the ABS-ready Si axles. Also the ITR is totally separate from the rest. Do some homework and try reading the entire thread before showing your ignorance..
