Question about 300z n/a and TT engines

Hi, noob question,

I have a 92 300ZX n/a and I was wondering if all the engine internals are the same as a TT model. I was hoping to add a turbo kit and was wondering if I could bolt it on without having to change anything else. Thanks.

Um...thats a VE30DE out of a Maxima...not the VG30DE out of an NA Z32...

Anyway...DO NOT turbo your NA engine. I say again, DO NOT turbo your NA engine. The VG30DE runs 10.5 to 1 compression. If you try to run anything over about 5 PSI of boost, your going to frag your engine. And if your going to go through all expensive of a turbo kit, you going to want to run a lot of boost.

For what you will spend on a turbo kit, you can buy a Twin Turbo, which is setup to be a turbo car. You would have to change so much of an NA to run turbos that the extra expense is just not worth it.

The VG30DETT has 8.5 to 1 compression pistons. They can run upwards of 20PSI on stock bits, provided you aren't being stupid in how you get there.

Unless you are going to build for 700rwhp or something crazy like that, the best way to get a turbo Z32 is to buy one. A basic Stage 3 Twin Turbo (Intake, cat back, ECU, mild boost increase) will make over 300Rwhp, sometimes you can get it up to 330-340 rwhp with only basic upgrades.
