Fuel pump noise

The fuel pump on my 3500 makes a constant high pitch noise. It has been doing this for about 10k. Has anyone ever had this problem?

what year is it. most all newer chevy make that puel pump noise. i have a 2000 chevy Z71 and it's made the noise since new

It's a 1998. Truck has 100k. Fuel pump was replaced 20k ago. The noise started about 10k ago.
It is a loud constant whinning noise.

I bought a 2000 K3500 4 months ago with 72000 miles. It too whines loudly. I have been told that this happens as it's dieing. I will be prepared to replace in but I will run it till it stops.

My fuel pump (1998 k1500 Z71) was replaced on 10/12/01, it's a OEM pump and has whined very high pinched since the day it was installed. the old 1 didn't whine but failed at 38,000 miles. So I figure the noise is a good thing, it means it's working.
