Re: power door locks

Door lock solenoids sticking and/or linkage catching/jamming. Rusty linkages in nylon sliders will cause that.

Have to remove the door panel to see what's going on.

Check power feed/ground for corrosion too.

Same Problem

I'm having the same problem with my tailgate window. The biggest thing is that the window won't open, so I can't use the tailgate at all. Any suggestions on how to get the back opened to fix the lock?

I've tried getting in the inside and using the tailgate handle and pushing, but no luck.

Thanks,

Mark

Re: power door locks

With the key in the tailgate lock, turn the handle for "Glass" and push the window in at the same time. You may have to jiggle the handle and window to make it release.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to remove the panel as best you can, to access the lock mechanism.

Thanks for the reply. My Jimmy is a '95 and the knob doesn't turn, only pushes in. I guess I'm just going to have to take it to someone to get it fixed.
