Whats the best ways to add HP?

I have a 2004 Chevy Cavalier that I would love to make faster. I've been searching the net for awhile to see what I can find and I haven't found much.

What would you guys suggest? I'm looking for any advice and links you can send my way.

Where can I find the specs on a stock 4door cav? How much HP, the size of the Alternator(I'm big on car audio).

Thanks in advance.

The cheapest mod you can do is weight reduction. Tearing out carpet, sound deadening material, audio components, power windows, back/passenger seats. How far you take it depends on how fast you want to go.

For bolt on stuff, a cold air intake and exhaust is a good route.

i've got the same car, but in a 2d version. intake is definitly the best way to start. my 1/4 mile time went from 15.9 to 15.5 with just a custom short ram.

Re: Whats the best ways to add HP?

well the way you add more hp is more air more fuel. So anything to get more air into the motor will help, and then you will need to get that air out faster. So intake, throttle body, intake manifold, head work, header, exhuast. try www.rksport.com www.rsmracing.com www.carcustoms.net theres alot more, and go to www.j-body.org too

The Items listed above really are not going to give you any more HP, those are really only needed if one was going to run Nitrous...
