1995 Cierra cold start issue

My '95 Cierra with a 3.1 engine starts right up every morning,
but after it runs for a mimute or two, it starts sputtering.
It does this either just in park or if i start to drive.
Than it stops after maybe 5-10 seconds after it starts.
It has a new fuel filter. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sounds like you need to clean out your Idle Air Control(IAC) motor. Carbon builds up in there, second the area in the intake under the EGR valve also develops carbon deposits that need to be cleaned out. Last, you need to make sure your throttle body is also cleaned out. Use Gumout and some green Scotchbrite pad that is used for cleaning dishes. It would gouge the throttle body. You can also use an old toothbrush. -Chris
