03 mustang

I was watching horsepower tv the other day and saw that they had an 03 mustang with I think 370 base line hp and bumb it up with the computer programer thing and the car hp read at the dyno 427+ with the help of underdrive pullys my question is with that power would this car out gun an Ls1 camero with or with a supercharger???? because the 03 mustang seems to very very computer frendly with huge gains just pushing buttons would the camero be the same??

you are probably referring to an 03 cobra with a baseline of 390. This has a factory supercharger. Changing out the supercharger pulley gives it more boost and it can turn out over 450 rwhp. Underdrive pulleys reduce drag on the motor but the HP gain is not that much.

The Predator Diablo hand held tuner is pretty good, that's what I think they used on the show. It's good for 20 hp on a GT and maybe 40 hp on a Cobra if custom tuned on a dyno machine for exact fuel and timing curves. I put the Diablo tune on my 2000 GT and it's noticeable. They run $400.

an '03 cobra would smoke a camaro without a power adder. with a few boltons it would smoke a camaro with a power adder. this is considering that camaros run mid/high 13s and cobras run low 13s, both being bone stock.

I saw that show. The baseline was 370 at the rear wheels. The chip(Superchips I think) added 43 horses. I forget what the pulleys did, but that pony really woke up(not that it was EVER sleeping!).

Re: 03 mustang

i dunno. I went to friday night street shoot out..

03 Cobra: 14.63 some how
02 Z28: 14.10 no lie

Both cars had stock wheels, stock tires, competly stock.

It really all depends on the driver. BTW..

The hand held programmer was a Hypertech.

They used a 3" (.5 smaller) pulley which made 8 hp.

Then they used a 2.8 which made 12 hp.
