Feul gage bounces only in park

I have a 2000 blazer an dI replaced the sending unit but now it only bounces in park.Where is the ground ?

This bulletin contains three different conditions depending on the model year of the vehicle involved.

Condition # 1 (2001 4-Door Only)

Some customers may comment that the fuel gauge goes from 1/4 to empty too quickly.

Condition # 2 (2002 4-Door Only)

Some customers may comment about excessive empty fuel reserve.

Condition # 3 (2003 2-Door and 4-Door)

Some customers may comment that the fuel gauge fluctuates between E and 1/4 tank.

Correction

Important: In order to select the correct calibration on some vehicles, you must first identify the cluster part number. This can be done using the Tech 2. DO NOT REMOVE THE CLUSTER.

A new service calibration has been released to correct these conditions. Reprogram the PCM using the new service calibration, which was available from Techline starting August 25, 2003 on the TIS2000 version 9.0 or later. This calibration is an electronic calibration and is not available from GMSPO.

Bounces in park? What do you mean?

Same thing happens to my 02k. It bounces all over the place from empty to full.

GOing to bring it in for repair monday. I will post their findings.

Does it do this when you are coming to a stop and putting it into park , or if you start it up in the morning it will do this?

So you start up the engine and it will sit there and bounce?

This might be completely normal seeing you getting into the truck might have caused the gas in the tank to slosh from side to side a bit and when you are coming to a stop the gas will definitely be moving.

How far does the gauge move?

Yes.But it doesnt bounce around in Drive?

It bounces in both park and drive, but more so when your sitting still.

A few times it has happened when going full speed, but mostly it happens while stitting in my drive way which is on an incline.

Does it bounce up and down quickly or does it take a minute or so to go up and down?

It takes a minute to settle.
