Jdm BPT swap in a 92 protege?

I found me a 92 protege for 1500. I also saw the jdm bpt motor for 1400 which has 210 hp with 180lbs of tq. But it said it comes from the 323. Anyways can those motors fit in the protege? I want to know what needs to be done to complete this swap? Any info will be great! Thanks in advance

Re: Jdm BPT swap in a 92 protege?

there are two kinds of bpt motors from japan. they both are direct bolt ons into the first generation protege. 1400 bux is a sweet deal on the gtr engine. usually u can get them for around 1800 without the shipping included.

check out www.clubprotege.com

they have all kinds of Protege FAQ's on swapping BPT motors... is the Protege you're talking about an LX or DX? The LX has the 1.8 DOHC which will mate to the BPT but if you have the DX w/the 1.8 SOHC you'll need an LX tranny to use the BPT.
