1997(-1999?) Mercury Sable; engine starts, but nothing turns, nothing happens
hey, my friend has a 1997-1999 Sable, was a nice car, but now the engine isn't working as it should. He says that the car starts, but nothing turns and nothing moves. He is confused, as am I. Does anyone have any helpful ideas?

Is the engine starting and staying runing or do you mean when you put the engine in drive it doesnt move?

the engine starts, the car starts but nothing moves...no reactions by the belts, valves, etc.

thats impossible, the belts are run by the crank, if the crank isn't turning, then the engine isn't running.
