don't bother with the bosch, just put the OEM champion plugs back in.

Re: bosch platinum +4 spark plugs

My friend put the bosch platnium +4's in his 240sx and we could feel the difference. I recommend bosch for sure.

Re: bosch platinum +4 spark plugs

if you actually "felt" a difference. it would probably be because the plugs you replaced, well... REALLY needed to be replaced.

yes he did need a good tune up at the time, but I still think that bosch makes a quality product.

Some of the people on the WRX boards have bad luck with the Bosch Platinums. The real advantage is that they last longer. But copper plugs still deliver a better spark.

I thought bosch platinums were great cheap platinum plugs for a while there. I have since changed my mind as almost every vehicle I've used them in had eroneous misfires etc. They are junk.

Jeeps love champions. Give em what they like to eat.

PS can someone name one advantage of a platinum 4 over a conventional platinum plug?

my personal experience with the platinum plugs , with 2 engines , was having the pistons fling off parts of metal crushing the electrode, granted it was in hot weather , and a engine that ran on the hot side , nature of the beast , but replacing pistons vs putting in the factory recomended plug , the champions win every time

Re: bosch platinum +4 spark plugs

I forgot to mention, one of my customers Audi A5 had Bosch Platinums and the center electrode fell out and caused a bent valve. He is suing them for damages.

waste of money

buy your plugs from the dealer, yes the dealer. they are cheaper than you think and they are the right ones. with newer vehicles, farting around with the plugs can cause unforseen problems because of resistance differences. I fell for the bosch marketing too, not worth it. if you want more power buy a super charger, turbo, or nitrous. if it costs less than 500, you won't notice the difference. however, k+n filter did improve my mileage by 1mpg as did mobil syn motor oil 1mpg. i get 22mpg at 55mph on the hway w/ v8 and 31 inch tires w/ 4inch lift. k+n feels like more power at high rpm, yet a clean air filter might do the same.
