Unhappy Busted At 138

WELL i'm not gonna be enjoying my mr2 for the next month! instant loss of license for 28 days plus court appearance for exceeding the limit by more than 50. Was going out to my g/f's place last night, just cruising, got out of town and gave it a squirt through a bend only to find a cop on the other side, i was just about out of site when he managed to start the car and chase me, but i'm over my days of chases so i pulled over, he said he saw me on radar go from under the limit to like 58 over through the corner. now i just have to look forward to the fine.... hmm

Re: Busted At 138

yeah the cop was pretty cool all in all (could have been cooler and let me off but hey) had to go into the station for paperwork crap and alcohol test (all clean!) he dropped me back out to my car and let me drive it (now without a license) up the road to my g/f's place where it would be nice and safe. Most would leave it there by the side of the highway in a bad area and i wouldn't have it anymore!

Re: Busted At 138

WOO WHO!!!
get my license back tonight....

suspended for 28 days and the ticket says 10.05pm. I can see the town clock from my driveway so when it hits 10.06, i hit the gas! It's been a long (but deserved) month.

Re: Busted At 138

have to go to court yet, but max speeding fine here is $630

cop reckoned prob cop the 630 and time done with no license.

shouldn't be too bad, clean record, and on the ticket it states

dry road
good visibility
medium traffic (read as light cause i live in a small town and there was no other car within sight)
no involved/caused accident/loss of control

so it was illegal but not particularly dangerous/careless

Re: Busted At 138

I was flying up the onramp onto the outerbelt around columbus Ohio and I wound out 3rd and 4th gears in my 1991 N/A MR2 and luckily I only got pulled for 104 instead of 120.Bad Cop.

That is interesting ... how does a person having the knowledge of the officer day affect the court setting the date for your hearing?
It doesn't You could know the cops favorite color, the last person he slept with and his social security number and that will never change the date the court issues you

That is correct.
In a traffic court case, the officer is the "prosecution" and you are the "defendant."
If the prosecution does not show up, then there is nothing to defend.
Case closed.

I just had that happen (sort of). See here:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=283295
I always challenge tickets.
The last two (linked above) I got off 100%.
The seven tickets before that:
I lost one completely.
The other 6 I got the fine reduced and had ALL points dimissed.

So my challenging ticket record puts me at 2-1-6 ... not a bad record if you ask me.

Well next time you decide you want to give it a short burst again, maybe u should invest in one of those radar detectors=).

Re: Busted At 138

I heard if you transfer yur case to another court which is like for example you got a ticket from downtown la go to rancho cukamanga area ask for permission to transfer the case over there cos you don't wana mis your new jobs over there and I heard is effective if they give you a permission to go to another court coz he won't go there just for you to fight in court case dismiss mio free !!! and keep calling look for this officer around one day they might say is his day off today mark it on yur calendar.
