auto tranny slams into gear

hey I have a 91 talon non turbo and whenever you put it into drive or floor it when driving the seams like it wams it into gear! under normal driving the shifts are pretty smooth although it seams like the gears hang up a bit for a second before moving up to the next gear. The tranny was just rebuilt about 10 000km ago so it should be ok but what I was wondering is the fluid? does talon trannys use ATF +3 fluid? because all I have in it now is regular mercon 3 fluid, well thats all least what I put in it. if anyone has any ideas about this give me a shout thanks!

My 95 talon calls for +3. Id give that a try.
