Valve cover paint

I have a question, i have a 1994 honda prelude S, my valve cover is really boring and it needs color, i was just wondering if you needed a special primer on it before, or a special paint...please help me.

Re: Valve cover paint

high temp paint. at least 500 deg or i'd even go for a 1200 or 1500. i believe the paint is formulated to not need primer. the high temp paint i've used, never needed it. but you need to make sure it's really really clean, before you paint it.
