Lost Power!! Where Is It?!?!
just got a custom 2.5 inch exhaust for my JRSC crx w/ 10 pds boost (on d16). Not only is the thing loud as a mofo (WITH resonator and silencer) but i have noticably lost power at all rpm (but gained shitloads of sound!).
the new 2.5 inch exhaust is hooked up to a test pipe(probably half of the sound issue) w/ DC 4-2-1 header and stock intake. I will soon be receiving kamikaze 4-1 header w/ 2.5" collector, injen 3" sri, and carsound 2.5" high flow cat. Will putting these on finally help my performance? WHATS GOING ON!?! AAHHH!!!! *pop* |

Re: Lost Power!! Where Is It?!?!
another case of poorly tuned exhaust - see the backpressure post pinned to the top of this forum - hopefully it will explain to you why just bending some pipes and slapping them in your car can be a very bad idea. You would be better off just buying a cat-back system that is made for the car on a boosted setup.

many people have told me unbolting the header and running only the downpipe would be best (for use at track of course.) so whats the difference if i were to get an exhaust with bigger piping and straight thru everything (test pipe, muffler, etc)? the air flow still increses... doesnt it?

Re: Lost Power!! Where Is It?!?!
yes - but you would be better off running that straight header - it would be loud as hell and sound like a damn fart can.
