Fuel setup for 7 pounds

Hey, haven't posted in a while. I finnally started my turbo project. i am starting it off with a brand new T25 garrett turbo. HKS cast iron manifold, and a custom downpipe and a side mount intercooler. I was wondering what would be a good setup for my fuel system at 7 pounds of boost. I was thinking an FMU and a fuel pump, what do you guys think and if you do agree what size fuel pump should i be looking for and how much would it cost to get an in tank fuel pump put in and by who?

Re: Fuel setup for 7 pounds

t25 ehhh. thats what i have in my 2g, good little turbo. if you havent bought it yet, i'd recomend a 14b over the t25 for the price. but anyway, have you upgraded your injectors? do you want to spray nitrous latter down the road?
with forced induction, its always good to have a fpr that returns fuel back to the tank. i'd suggest no larger then a 190 walbro pump (around $80) a rewire kit for the pump (25), AEM fpr (w/ return line), new injectors, 7psi wont need anything special unless you'll run nitrous. so if you decide you'll want to run nitrous in the future you'll sould go ahead and get a new fuel rail now. AEM's high flow rails should work, they have the ported holes for nitrous, if not, keep your stock rail and fit 330's in 440's if your planning on nirous. you'll need a colder spark plug w/ smaller gap. and obvously a fuel controler. what else.....im sure im forgetting somthing...

An SAFC will work ok, but don't cheap out. Your honda with a bolt on non factory turbo kit running an SAFC will feel just like that, something that is non factory. With hondata the transition from vacuum to boost is seamless, like it was meant to be that way. Your car runs so much better and is so much more enjoyable to drive, and hondata really is not that much more expensive than a SAFC if you buy them both new.

Otherwise 440CC DSM's sound good, and a 255 LPH walbro. No sense going with a 190 when you can't hurt anything by going to a 255, it's not like a 255 is some massive race only pump that heats up the fuel and doesn't like to run on the street.

I agree and say that a tunable ecu is always the best option. However, because of a lack of knowledge/money, it's not always attainable to everyone.

If you choose to go the FMU/Fuel Pump route, I may have something to offer. Check my sig.

Uberdata is a free solution to Hondata. All you need is a laptop, and an eeprom burner.

Then you can tune yourself on a dyno, or on the street with a wideband o2.

Blake is sort of a friend of mine. He's a bit nerdy, but a good kid.

yeah uberdata is a good choice, its almost like hondata too. but unless you can self tune, or can find a tuner to tune the uberdata. tuning isnt that hard, you just gotta know what your doing and why your doing it

in order to run 7 psi in ur car safely u need....a FMU, missing link, turbo, turbo manifold, charge piping, vac/boost gauge, a/f gauge (i reccomend www.dawesdevices.com for a/f gauges...amazing product), now you dont need a bov, or intercooler for 7 psi its merely your choice...but when u do finally boost dont forget to block off the hole in the intake for the pcv system and at least put a filter coming off of your valve cover.

hope this helps

Re: Fuel setup for 7 pounds

Missing links are garbage. Get a real map sensor. Or Uberdata.

My D series MAP sensor NEVER had to use a missing link. I don't know what they did to the B series one's, but they're retarded for throwing a CEL @ 7psi.

Re: Re: Fuel setup for 7 pounds

the only reason you get a missing link is because hondas are only able to read 1 psi....so u get a missing link to prevent a CEL

Re: Fuel setup for 7 pounds

This is not true for all Hondas.
Only B series encounter that problem.

Re: Fuel setup for 7 pounds

may be true for d series motor but...me and my buddy had to use a missing link on his d series to prevent a CEL...its a 95 ex civic...home made turbo kit.

Re: Fuel setup for 7 pounds

I never needed a missing link. I ran 12psi daily for the first year.

When I built the engine and went with Hondata, I ran 17psi. Still no missing link.

I have a D16Y8 head, with a Z6 block.
