Angry Got Used Rims - Now steering shakes and...

Any advice would be nice:

(First off, HI! this is my first post here...) OK I have a stock '91 CRX base model. I just bought 4 used wheels that supposedly came from a CRX SI ('89 or '90). Got them balanced and installed... they look GREAT, but:

1. Now have a slight steering wheel shake at low speeds.
2. Rear right tire loses air quickly.
3. Front left tire losing air slowly.
4. I noticed today that the tire size isn't even the right ones. They should be P185/60R but what's on these are P195/60R. (14" rims)

I knew the tires were worn down, but I expected to get a summer or two out of them. Now looks like I need to get new tires, but then for all I know the rims might be damaged (couldn't find any problems with a visual inspection).

Should I be bitching to the seller? I paid $295 us for these.

Can a valve stem replacement take care of the tire losing air?

I'd bring em back to the balancer and ask em what's up.. aske them to confirm that they're round and not bent..there's no visible bends where air could be leaking? a new valve could defintely be a solution.

Amazing response time guys! wow.

I just wanted to clarify that when I refer to "wheels" I'm meaning I got both the used rims with used tired already installed on them. I just took them to a tire shop (Costco actually) and had them balance and mount.

Thanks for the advice.

Take them to a real tire shop and have them put them in the water tub to check for leaks. The size of the tire shouldn't be an issue but the wear may be cause they were broke in on a different car.

yea i'd say get the checked out for the leaks, may have a nail or something in there, or the valve stems are fucked, get the rims checked for roundness as well

Been aroudn tire shops for a long time and never heard of tire sealing compound, only thing I'v ever seen them use is lube on really low profile tires.

But anyway like everyone else said, take them to a good quality shop and talk to them about it.

the tire sealing compound is bead sealer, its for old rusty rims so it makes a better seal on it

You're right. They are very worn down. Not quite to the marker, but very close.
