PIAA Xtreme Foglights

I can barely tell the difference when I turn my fog lights on in my 2003 Maxima so I just ordered the PIAA Xtreme White replacement bulbs. I was wondering if anyone knows if they are any brighter.

Unless they are higher wattage and 55 watts, they won't be brighter. they will APPEAR brighter because the blue tinted bulb accents the white lines of the road more than the stock yellow. But in terms of brighness, If the bulbs are the same watts, then the stock clear bulb will always be brighter. Because the clear bulb does not inhibit any light, and the blue tinted, or any tinted bulb inhibits it at least a little.

You will think they are brighter, so thats almost as good. Trust me, everyone thinks they're brighter. There might even be someone who replies who claims they actually are brighter.

you could re-aim the fogs themselves up a little and a little more toward the middle

Actually, they will be brighter. Higher wattage bulbs generate more heat, but aren't necessarily brighter. The Extreme's have a higher luminance, meaning they operate at a higher temperature on the color spectrum. They look closer to HID's because they are brighter and closer in light. So yes, you will notice a big difference in the Xtreme's. They are whiter and brighter than stock.

BUt if yourt looking to siginifigantly increase visibility with the stock fogs, there's really nothing you can do in terms of just changing bulbs. THe stock fogs are designed to shine directly in front of the car with a wide beam. It sounds like he's looking for something more along the lines of drivings lights, or HID

Re: PIAA Xtreme Foglights

Okay, I just got my lights tuesday and I tried to put them on tonight and realized I have no easy way of getting to the foglights. I gave up relatively easy since the sun was beginning to set. Does anyone how to get these on or know of a DIY site for assistance?
