Need help with v8 swap planning
To save a few grand would I be able to swap in a sbc 350 only using the deluxe kit from Archie and the donor car. I have a 350 a donor car and am looking into a v8archie kit. For those that did the swap what did you use and what might be very helpful and money saving.

Just so you don't get funny again I did read the question!
Buy the basic Archie kit and the rest get from Jegs, Summit, or Ebay. Infact, I just saw a kit sell for $750 on Ebay. I would also use a Spec clutch stage 2 or 3, 3 if you are running more than 300 HP. And I wouldn't mind using a 4 speed Muncie with the SBC, if you miss a shift with a 5 speed Isuzu you will bend the shift fork and the 4 speed id alot stronger, unless you do alot of high driving with it than get the Getrag but the final gear isn't much different. |

Re: Need help with v8 swap planning
that GETRAG tranny is bullet proof. It is one of the best trannies I've seen. I have witnessed that tranny take a 120RWHP/160TQ car to 150mph.....STOCK 88 Formula. The getrag is one of the best features about the Fiero. On the archie site it says that a getrag was holding 455hp and a 200 shot

Just alot more money and harder to find. I paid over $500 for mine and $200 for the shifter and cables, and thats a good deal.
