94 Taurus- power steering/gear box problems

Hey guys,

Having a problems steering a 94 Taurus.
This car does not belong to me, nor have I ever seen the car. It belongs to one of the youth in my wife's youth group at church. Anyway, the car will barely make left hand turns, but makes right hand turns effortlessly. I am trying to narrow down what the problem could be. Tie rod or steering arm? steering box?. If the car is making right hand turns without any problems, this should rule out the power steering pump right? The way the problem was explained led me to believe that the car has power steering when turned right, but not when turning left. This does not make sense to me. Someone out there educate me.

Thanks,

Demps
