missing when raining

No I did not lose it in the rain >g<

Just bought used 86 nova 75K original miles

When raining out. Firing on less then 4 cylinders.

Previous owner changed cap and wires no improvement. He said if he wipes down the wires the problem goes away.

Only happened once so far so I haven't tried this yet but if problem there with old set and new set wires what would wiping them down have to do with it?

What else should I be looking at.

Also starter wire broke off and had mechanic fix. Is this common?

Thank you
Take care
cel

Re: missing when raining

Get New Wires, Spark Plugs, Distributor Cap, Possibly a New Coil. Maybe you need to replace your starter or the Starter Coil. I dont know man maybe your whole wiring is messed up. Running on less than 4 cylinders, Not good! Oh yea, maybe your firing order is messed up too.

make sure the cap is on tight and water doesnt get in. i had that happen to my mazda when it rained, so i just took the cap off wiped everything down and put the cap back on and made sure it was tight and never had the problem again.
