fixing top

i just recently purchased a 1994 cougar and one of the few problems with the car is the top. the car is dark green with a tan top. however, the top has started to grow mold on it. i imagine this to be normal considering the vehicle is ten years old and rain will eventaully get underneath the top. anyway, i was wondering if anyone knew of a special cleaner to help take care of the mold or maybe a certain store to take it to like pepboys or autozone. thanx
