Re: T56 borg warner

welcome to the forum.

i have never directly dealt with the transmission but i know the T56 can handle quite a bit of punishment before you get into race rebuilds. it was originally designed for the Dodge Viper, so maybe that gives you a little bit of an idea...

Re: T56 borg warner

Except the one in the Viper has beefed up internals not like the Vette or Z28… You should be able to handle 500 to 600 hp before having a problem…

Re: T56 borg warner

Easy to miss third and bend the Shift linkage inside the tranny with stock Shifters. Get a Pro 5.0 and you will never miss 3rd (unless you cannot drive)

Re: T56 borg warner

you can mess up the synchro or the forks trying to get it in gear.....

I was making right at 500hp through a T56.

Re: T56 borg warner

id say that 700 might be a stretch, prolly only get a couple run before you have to rebuild...
