does'nt it feel great to get that kit you've trying to find for years.....

I've been looking for this kit for years, i've been outbid on EBay several, missed it at a show by 2 seconds, and some one else grabbed it before I did. but I finally got it off ebay, AMT 1979 Subaru Brat, kit was done back in the day before Tamiya where AMT was the king of the model industry, very little mold lines but typical flash for the day.

Wow, that is a cool kit - don't s'pose you want to sell it?

I agree though, it is cool to find kits you have been looking for. I have recently moved from Aus, where it is almost impossible to find rare second hand kits, to the UK. Needless to say I am now like a kid in a candy store!

Man that car brings back memories. A friend had one in High School, he picked me up nearly every day, boy did we have fun in that.

LOL that's exactly what I want to do with the one I picked up at our show last year! Maybe all three of us should build 'em! Seems like a well-spent $20, even if they do eventually reissue it...an extreme longshot. An STi, or a support-vehicle scheme for modern rallying was my idea, or a tuner. Revell's doing a full-detail diecast WRX this year, so maybe that will have a good engine setup. My old '76 DL even had the spare tire under the hood, over the engine.

BTW, I was in Alaska for the first two weeks of August, a Subaru lover's paradise (it has to be the state car)...I saw many an old Scooby (and several new Legacys), even a couple of mint-looking 360's at a Subaru repair shop in the City of Kenai, and several Brats along the way. I even got a picture of a Subaru "shrine" sculpture at a restaurant called Fat Olive's in Homer, AK last Thursday-it was done by the restaurant's owner...check it out, it's a boat and all the parts are from old Subarus-see if you can find the mosquitos made from Subaru emblems:

Wow, you paid that much?

I got the same kit off ebay for $15 about 6 month ago, you make me feel so lucky!

So what do you think of the kit?

The kit is pretty good. Did that $15 include shipping? I've seen 'em go a good bit higher, you got a good deal. $20 for this is better than what new curbside Fujimi's go for, especially their butchered '04 STi!

Congratulations.

How about this one:

Finally winning that E-bay item (Bugatti kit) that hardly shows up on E-bay (or anywhere).
The seller (French) refuses to accept a bank transfer, and requests me to send the money by mail. I do, and then the seller claims he never got it. He then gives another mailing address, claiming the other one is from a friend. He relists, and when bidding, he refused my bid.

At least I have a target to get to for my next holiday... Still don't have the kit, anyhow. Didn't show up at E-bay ever since.
