Question 2003 Radio won't come on at all?

I have a 2003 silverado with the theft lock system on the radio. After removing the battery cable (while installing amplifier power wire), the radio has acted very strange. The radio played for about 5 minutes with the rear speakers cut loose, and the channels wired to the amp. Then the amplifier shut off followed by the radio. After double checking all of my wiring, I found no problems with the easy install. With no luck, I unhooked everything and the radio worked, but done strange things. I pushed the power botton and all it said was... VOL.... Like the volume control. I turned the key off and back on, and the radio does not come on at all. No red light, no door chimes, nothing! I checked all the fuses, but all are fine. I have a date at that local dealership tomorow. Any Ideas?

P.S. I have wired many amplifiers before.....I used to do it for a living at the local audio store and part-time for Best-buy.

Try disconnecting the battery for about 30 minutes, so the power supply in the stereo has time to bleed completly down. This will cause the microprocessor to reset, when you reconnect the battery. If the micro was locked up, the stereo should work. Good luck.
