Fuel Injector Problem - HELP NOW PLEASE

Hope someone knows something about fuel injectors. Vehicle is a 1993 S-10 pickup with the 2.8L engine with the TBI 220 throttle body. I bought new injectors, installed them, and don't think they are working properly. They are pouring the fuel into the throttle body. I thought they were supposed to spray the fuel in, sort of like a mist. The fuel right now is pouring in, and even dripping off the bottom of the injectors. Anyone know what could be causing this? What should I look for? Two things: (1) When the truck runs, the SES light flashes very quickly and constantly, which Chilton's Manual says the engine is running rich; And (2) The only code that pops up (when you ground out A & B on the computer plugin and turn the ignition on) is a Code 12. Something like "No Distributor Reference Pulses to the ECM". What does this mean?? Chilton's doesn't explain any more than that. What kind of problem is a Code 12? Is it normal and resets after a certain number of engine starts? Please help me!!!!!!!!!

Much Appreciated,
-Chris H.

Re: Fuel Injector Problem - HELP NOW PLEASE

I wish I could take it to a dealer......Only problem is, with all the work I did to it, I don't think a dealer would touch it. I don't think I want a dealer to touch it, take the chance of leaving it there with $10,000 worth of chrome, a fully painted chassis, jet-hot coated headers, rims.....ahhhh, I don't think so. Can't do it.

Re: Fuel Injector Problem - HELP NOW PLEASE

Code 12 is normal with key on and engine not running. Ignore it.
Injectors should mist - have you checked fuel pressure and volume? Fuel filter need replaced?

sounds to me like you need to take the injectors back out and make sure you didnt rip the o-ring that goes on the bottom, i ran across the same problem in my blazer and i got a t-body gasket kit from autozone, it was like $5 and the o-rings fixed it, if you would like any more info e-mail me
