exhaust/emissions question

Hey guys, I don't know too much about exhaust and emissions parts so here is my question. Could someone tell me in order what parts I would need to replace my exhaust from manifold back on an 89 turbo 2.

Also what else needs to be done to have a Texas rx7 pass emissions in California? I think I'm screwed with this car but will see.

Re: exhaust/emissions question

are you just wanting to put a stock exhaust on to pass emmisions or a performance exhaust that will still pass? if you want the stock exhaust then just buy new cats and that would probably make you pass... go visit the mazda dealer, I don't know where else to order stock cats

Re: exhaust/emissions question

where in California are you? I have the precat and main cat if you need. That should be ALL you need anyways. If not, don't go to the factory/dealership because they will charge you an arm and both legs for that matter.

Either go on the rx7 forums and buy used cats, or buy new high-flow cats.

BTW, I'm not sure if its for the FCs, but the CA ECUs may be different than the ones on Texas. I know this is a problem for the FD3S but not sure about the FC3S.

Good luck.

noly emmision problems the FC should have would be the cats... at least most of the time...
