Gto Mr?

ok....around this point...im pretty upset...anytime i look for pictures of the gto mr...dudes are always taking pictures of the car and not the engine...what im trying to figure out is the placement of the engine....is it in the back like a mr2 and an nsx...or is it in the front...cause by this link right here...it says its in the back...but i believe since these dudes arent taking pictures of there gto engine in the back...it must just be in hte front like the rest...can someone tell me the facts on where the engine is place is on the car...or some pictures...or something...i really wanna know...thx

uhmm, there is an MR

there were 3 kinds of GTOs in Japan, the SR, TT, and MR

SR = AWD N/A
TT = VR-4
MR = TT plus 13g turbos plus less weight, and i've heard about the midenginged design, but i believe its still a front engine car, i think that the weight of the car is just distributed much better

Re: Gto Mr?

So what would be the 1/4 mile time differences b/t a VR4 and an MR?

Realy?! Wierd, how can it be a MR car if the engine is in the front? Does weight distrobution alone make a car MR? I knew about the Japanese cars but thats wierd, anyone know of some pics or full specs?

Theres not much information on these MRs. No way the engine could be in the rear though There is room for it but the rear hatch would have to be removed and it would look like a Del sol or MR2 lol. So I doubt the MR was a Mid engine Rear wheel drive machine.

the hatch wouldnt have to be removed....super cars have hatchs just like the gto and they have rear engines...i think ited be a honor to have a rear engine gto rather its come like that stock...or i throw thousands of dollars down the drain to get the project done custom

The GTO MR's run around a 12.6 in the quarter

VR-4s can run around a 13.5

and yes, its that big of a difference, your looking at less weight and bigger turbos, and in fact, from what i understand, the MR is the fastest japanese stock production car
